The CCM JetSpeed FT480 Goalie Skates offer goalies a ton of performance and comfort without the hefty price tag. The FT480 showcases some amazing technologies from top to bottom, one of them being the new cowling-less design, SpeedBlade XSG Holder, and XSG1 Runner.
The patent-pending XSG Holder features their BladeLock system that mechanically attaches the runner to the holder which not only allows goalies to swap out steel in a matter of seconds but maintain efficient energy transfer for consistent power pushes in the crease. The pairing steel, XSG1, features an extra +2mm for added height and extended edge life.
Pairing well with the new XSG1 steel is the cowling-less design. CCM designed the toe cap specifically for goalies in order for the foot to remain protected but also provide them a better attack angle and lighter skate.
The boot itself boasts NHL-caliber 3D-lasted RocketFrame Composite for extremely lightweight, elite-level protection and anatomical design around the foot. The TriTech Flex Zone tongue offers advanced protection and better comfort. It has molded lace-bite protection and a better anatomical wrap to increase forward flexion.
Speaking of comfort, the FT480’s liner is built with CCM’s pro-inspired Total-Dri Liner. Helping to manage moisture, the Total-Dri liner helps keep the foot locked into place all game long. On either side are DuraZone Abrasion Patches that reduce wear and tear and also feature CCM’s Asymmetric Flex Stance. With the Flex Stance, goalies are able to flex deeper in their stance and quickly recover to stand back up.
Lastly, the JetSpeed FT480 Goalie Skates feature a much stiffer composite outsole that provides better energy transfer than typical TPU. An added vent releases moisture to keep the feet cooler and dryer throughout the game.
